Today was hair wash day for me. I don't have designated days that I do this, just every 3 days or on the rare occasion, 4. This so happen to be 4 days so I decided to use a clarifying shampoo to get a really deep clean.
A clarifying shampoo will be labeled as such on the bottle. It's meant to be used once in a while for a deeper clean such as to remove product buildup. I used the brand, Biolage then I followed up with a regular shampoo from L'ORÉAL Professional called Blondor. It smells like berries which matches the purple exterior.
Once my double wash was completed, I followed up with a hair mask and left that on for a few minutes and I made sure to ring out the excess water before applying. (this step goes for all conditioner applications)
I decided to use a mask today because of the clarifying shampoo. I wanted to ensure extra hydration to my hair.
So there it is! My hair wash Monday routine for you 😆
The reason I decided to share this with you is because I always get asked questions and sometimes you might not know the reason behind choosing certain products.
Let me break it down even more.
Q: "Why and how often should I use a clarifying shampoo?"
A: If you use daily products such as mousse, gel, curl creams, root lifters, root powders, hairspray, texture spray, dry shampoo, creams. If you feel you're hair doesn't have the usual "bounce".
If you feel it's a little oilier than normal.
Follow the directions according to the shampoo. In most cases I reccomemd using it once a month.
Also, I dont believe that everyone needs to be using a clarifying shampoo.
This is just from my professional and personal opinion 😊
Have a happy Monday guys!
xoxo
Vanessa
